INCUBATE – This is where I tag notes that I might want to do in the future or need to do in the future. This was an obstacle that I needed to address. On the web app you can simply drag and drop a tag to create a hierarchy order. I found by adding a symbol in front of the tag it placed it at the top of the tag list. It needed to be simple so I wouldn’t have to think about it when I was filing a note.I wanted a hierarchical system that worked on the web app and the mobile version – in my case the iPad/iPhone.I also wanted to “see” my GTD reference material at the top of the tag list.I needed a system for filing project based reference, someday reference and general reference. I use Evernote as part of my GTD system for reference materials. Here are some of the concerns and issues I needed to solve: This took a little experimentation going from the web app to the iPad. I also wanted my tag system to be mobile friendly. I now focus on tags and my new system only has 2 notebooks. It’s not really intended to be used like a traditional file cabinet. ![]() I needed a flexible system that could grow with me. This is the reason why you need to use tags. Since a note can be tagged multiple times it can exist in multiple locations. You can have 100,000 tags and a note can have 100 tags. ![]() ![]()
